VI trip to Fareham and district Model Railway Club

The children from OASIS, had a wonderful visit to the model railway club.
Our children with VI, were able to ride on electric and steam engines.
They also had the opportunity to touch the engines.
The train drivers and engineers gave of their time for free.
They were enthusiastic and helpful. They made the children's visit really interesting, answering questions, and giving lots of  information about the trains.

The children also had the opportunity to
socialise together.
Two of our amazing pupils are leaving this July.
Both children are passionate about trains.
It was a fitting way to say au revoir!

Listen2Me Summer Concert

For the last time this year, we were treated to an afternoon of musical entertainment on Wednesday.
Mrs Staniforth's musicians kicked us off beautifully on their flutes and recorders.  They played some fantastic pieces and really showed off everything they have been learning.
This was followed by a wonderful concert performed by Year 2 and 4 children.  Year 4 played their ukuleles, while Year 2 played a range of tuned percussion instruments - the metallophone, chime bars, glockenspiel and xylophone.
The children all sang and played brilliantly.  Thank you once again to Mrs Watling for supporting our children to learn the instruments and perform so confidently.

Y5 Bread Making

We made bread!

Today we had a go at making Syrian style bread to fit with our topic all about Baghdad.  We used only our arm muscles to mix our dough before letting it rise.  Some of us found this exhausting.  Then, using only our hands, we shaped our dough into small pitta shaped loaves ready for baking.  We hope you enjoyed tasting them!
