Spring into new life In-reach!

What an exciting time we had at our in-reach last Friday! Not only did our children and young people with visual impairments have the chance to take part in activities such as: making cookies, planting and playing with a miniature farm. They were also able to meet all the wonderful creatures great and small, from 'Mucky Bucket Farm.'
It was a real hands-on experience, with the delightful Victoria and her mum inviting children to touch and hold such delights as: a prickly hedgehog, slow and steady tortoise and chirpy chicks! To say nothing of the pygmy goats, sheep, shetland pony, donkey, and the stars of the show, two amazing alpacas!
Such hands-on experiences are vital for our children, to give them a better understanding of the world around them. 
Thank you to everybody who attended. It was great to see you. We look forward to seeing you all again next time.

Lewis was really interested to know what a hoof was, and what it felt like. He now knows that it is made of keratin, also used to make up our hair and nails.

Petting Farm

Today we were lucky enough to visit the petting farm which was on the school field as part of VI inreach.

These photographs show how much the children enjoyed this wonderful experience.

We enjoyed seeing and stroking the animals.  Some of us came back to our Early Years outdoor area and played being farmers, pretending to look after the animals.
