Our Children with VI had an amazing time at Shedfield equestrian centre yesterday. Courtesy of a group of young people and staff from King Edward's school in Southampton, who raised the funds for our children to be treated to an afternoon of pony riding. In addition the children were able to groom the ponies. A special surprise came in the form of 3 orphaned lambs less than a month old, who had been adopted by the centre and were available for petting, as well as rabbits guinea pigs and a donkey named Jack.
Take a look at our photos to see how much this visit meant to our children-their faces say it all!
The experience enabled the majority of our pupils to ride for the first time. They also had a chance to continue developing friendships with others and build confidence.
Some of our pupils have already expressed a wish to return for more lessons.
Thank you also to Sam, Beth, Matthew and the other RDA trained instructors, who worked so patiently with our children, encouraging them and giving clear instructions.
I'm sure we will be back again in the not too distant future!
