We have started looking at poetry this week in literacy. The children have been exploring the different poems found in the book 'Commotion in the Ocean'.
They have been looking at how rhyme is used in the poems and spent some of the morning learning one of the poems. They then performed their poem to the rest of the class and added actions.

And the winner is.....
And the results are in! Well done to Cleo, Amy, Laurie and Charlie C who made the most profit at the Summer Fair. Their Loom Band stall raised an amazing £52.50 for the PTA - well done, girls! For coming in the first place, each of them has won a £20 voucher for Nandos - we hope they have a fantastic meal!
However, we are also equally proud of everyone in Year 6. Their hard work resulted in a total of £235.58 being raised for the school! Once again, thank you to all of the pupils for their hard work and thank you to everyone who visited their stalls.

Our Willow Sculpture
An Artist called Angela Morely visited Year 3 and 4 today and created a willow character with the children. They learnt a lot about how to construct a figure and put their weaving skills, learnt in Spring term, to the test today!
We have a skateboarding character inspired by Ben's design.
Our Day at Longdown Activity Farm!!
We had a wonderful day at the farm yesterday. Farmer Brian took us around the farm and we all became 'young farmers' for the day!
We learnt how to feed goats and young goats, which are called kids, with special milk. We all got quite wet and sticky as the young goats were so hungry!
We collected chicken and duck eggs and learnt about how long the eggs take to hatch.
Then we fed the muddy pigs, and then held twelve day old chicks, they were so cute and fluffy!
After every activity we had to wash our hand with lots of soap.
A little donkey called 'Emily' made friends with us.
Then we had a very bumpy and exciting tractor ride around a field, it was so much fun!!!
Finally it was time for lunch, we were so pleased as we were very hungry.

Here are some of our photos:
