Digestive Fun in Year 3!

This half term in Year 3 we have been learning about teeth and the digestive system. We've done some great experiments - they've been pretty disgusting too!

We chose different substances to put eggs into to see what effect they have on our teeth. We covered part of the eggs with toothpaste to see how much toothpaste really protects our teeth... the results were incredible!

The Ribena was the most surprising and definitely had the most yuck factor!

We also investigated what really happens to our food when we eat it.

It has been a busy few weeks on site. This is a flavour of how our building project is developing...

The tin roof on and damp proofing to the edge of the slab prior to walls and brickwork.

Here is the underside of the roof and the stud walls in place. 

This shows the insulation on the outside of the stud walls about to be bricked up with the wall ties fixed in.

Zoolab

On Thursday we were very lucky to have some visitors, but not of the human kind!

Cuthbert, Gavin, Ruby, Alan and Tilly were brought to school by Heather from Zoolab.

We found out lots about insects, reptiles and spiders.  We were all very brave and looked, touched and even held some of these minibeasts.

The Historic Dockyard

“This is the best school trip ever!” - a very excited Y3 child!

We’re having a wonderful day at the Historic Dockyard. We have all enjoyed exploring the HMS Victory and are now having fun on our harbour tour - the children are being fantastic and setting a great example for our school!
