Holly Hill - An Inspiration for Hockney art

This week is Arts Week. Year 4 are looking at the work of Hockney and decided to go out for some inspiration to create our own Hockney creations. We took a visit down to Holly Hill Park to explore the area and to get a feeling for the features, colours and textures that are found there.

We used iPads to take photos of different perspectives...

Used mirrors to look at the forest canopy...

Used paint charts to identify the different shades of colours...

Sketched the landscape using careful observation skills...

Collected different plants to analyse how many shades of green there were...

Took wax rubbings of the different textures...

And used natural materials to create our own sculptures...

We had a super time and have collected a range of different ideas. Keep your eyes peeled for our update next week to see the art we've created from this visit!
