A special visitor to Year R

Today we had a visit form our local PCSO, PC Rutter.  He came in to tell us about how he helps People.

PC Rutter explained that he made sure people were safe on the road and toured the local area to ensure that we are all safe.  He showed us all the equipment he wore and carried.

We had the opportunity to have a close look and touch and even tried on his hat.

PC Rutter explained that he is able to use sign language and he uses this to communicate with people who are unable to hear.  He wears a special badge to identify this skill.

PC Rutter then helped us to check our outside area was safe.  He made lots of notes in his notebook.

PC Rutter explained that the Police use cars, bikes, motorbikes, horses, boats and vans to get around.  Hopefully he will be able to bring his car to school when the building work has finished so that we can get inside.

Thank you PCSO Rutter, we learnt so much.
