Roman Day in Years III and IV

Today, Years 3 and 4 were visited by Iggy - a real-life Roman soldier! Iggy taught us how the Romans invaded Britain, showed us some games they would have played and took us to the Roman baths where we felt different Roman artefacts which were mostly real! Thankfully, the sponge on a stick was a replica! During the afternoon, Iggy talked us through the Roman army and showed us why they were such a powerful force. We got to practice drills in Latin and had a go at being gladiators at the mercy of the emperor and empress. We had a huge amount of fun and are looking forward to finding out more about the Romans in our history lessons.
