At the end of last term, Year 1 celebrated our Toys topic by visiting the Toy Museum in Gosport. The children were able to use what they had learnt about old and new toys to help order a timeline and think about what different toys were made from. They also really enjoyed exploring a variety of toys from different times in history. The children even got to dress up as characters from different historical periods and make their own cup and ball game.
We also got to visit two exhibitions. One showed toys from the 80s and the other was a chance to explore fossils.
At the end of the day we were lucky enough to visit the Discovery Centre, where we learnt more about what libraries have to offer and listen to a story. Some children also took books home. We hope you enjoyed reading these over half term.
A big thank you to all our parent helpers on the day who helped make the trip possible.
Also a big thank you to all of Year 1. The children behaved exceptionally well and all of the staff at the venues commented on how polite, friendly and engaged they were. Your teachers and all at Kings Copse are very proud of you!
