Welcome week

It's been a great first week for all the children.
We have enjoyed showing them  around their new classroom, allowing them to know where to find things for their learning. We have started getting to know our new friends names and meeting other children in our key groups.
We have been inspired by games we like to play and  we have already made a new shelter in the woods and the book corner is turning into a frozen castle!!!!!We believe as a team, that play is a key tool for learning in year R, developing many skills and chances for learning opportunities. It would be great to know your views about this? Please comment and tell us.

Exploring playing our game of the week. This week it's the Bee Tree game

We loved the small world outside

We sang number songs with Mrs Miles
There was plenty to see and find in the woods.

All the children have been fantastic this week and we look forward to them continuing in such a great way when they come and have lunch here at school next week.

Two new visitors!

Year 4 now has two new fishy friends! This year, our class will have its own class pet - two fantastic (and very lively!) goldfish. However, we have one problem... they don't have names!

What names do you think they should have? Remember: one is golden and one is silver. Write your suggestions in the comments box. The best two names will be selected on Friday. Good luck!

Ukulele World Record Attempt.

Ukulele World Record Attempt!

Year 4 are waking up today as world record holders.  Although not official yet, the number of Ukulele players through the turnstiles exceeds the current record.  We are waiting for an official announcement on Monday but the numbers are looking good!

Here we are, in full concentration mode, strumming our way into the record books...

What a way to end the year!

Year 6 for a day!

Today, we made the journey up to the next classroom to become Year sixes for the morning! It was very strange being in a new room, but we all felt a little bit taller being at the top of the school, and we certainly showed what good role models we will be!

First of all, we worked brilliantly in teams to build bridges to see whose could hold the heaviest weight. Miss Halton was especially impressed at how well we cooperated and communicated with each other.

All our team work paid off - our bridges worked!

Alfie, Harry, and Jack's bridge held an astonishing 4800g, with Charley, Robyn, and Rosie's bridge coming a close second.

Well done Year Five for working so well as a team - I look forward to working with our terrific team again next year!

Molly the Pony!!

We had a wonderful visitor in school this afternoon. The lovely ladies, Charlie and Maxine, from Quob Stables, brought Molly the pony to visit the children.
Charlie and Maxine were great with the children and we learnt alot about Molly and how to look after her.
All of the children stroked and brushed her and some of the children fed her carrots. Molly enjoyed the carrots so much she dribbled all over Charlie!!
Molly was very well behaved and the children had a fabulous time getting to know her.

Charlie and Maxine also left some information packs and activities for the children to do, which was very kind of them.

Thank you very much!!!!
Molly loved being stroked!!!

She dribbled when she was fed carrots!!

Molly enjoyed a wonderful brushing session.

She licked my hand!!!

This is so much fun!!

We led her around the field, it was so much fun!!
