Reaction Time

In maths, Year Six investigated reaction times! We tested a partner’s reaction time by recording how fast they could grasp a ruler when it was dropped between their fingers. The test was repeated five times for each person before the results were recorded. We then calculated an average score for each person.

We chose to investigate a conjecture:
e.g. The older you are, the slower your reactions; You will get better over time; Girls will be quicker than boys; If you are left handed, your reactions will be quicker with your left hand; Your average time will be quicker than your first attempt; etc

We tested our conjectures in the class and analysed our findings.
