Yesterday, Year 3 spread out across the school to explore what it might be like to have a visual impairment and to help us understand how to help our friends who do have visual impairments. We practiced using a 'sighted guide' with the support of one of our colleagues at Open Sight (a VI charity), we used special glasses to distort our vision and tried to write our names and other sentences with them on (it was very hard!). We also had a go at touch typing - without looking at the keyboard! - and tried reading Braille. We had a great afternoon and hope you like some pictures of us:
