Henry Moore Sketching

If you walked past Year 6 this afternoon, you would have been mistaken for thinking that they all needed an early bedtime!

As part of our art project on the war artist Henry Moore, we investigated his sketches of people in the Underground shelters during World War 2.

Using this as our inspiration, we posed in different positions that people would have been in whilst waiting for the all-clear siren. Some people would be sleeping or resting, others would be bored, some might be reading or doing a hobby such as knitting.

Using pencil and then charcoal, we sketched our figures so that we can use them for inspiration when we create our Henry Moore sculptures.
