In year one we have been learning all about the body, including the skeleton. We have also been learning about the different senses we have and the body parts we use for these. The children have used mirrors to study their faces and have created these brilliant self portraits using oil pastels, linking in with our topic work.
Lydia has been busy drawing all of us this weekend. She's had a great time, talking about the bones in our bodies also. Good to see some budding artists in year 1, well done to you all.
ReplyDeleteFantastic self portraits from Year 1. Taylor had come home and told me about doing this so its really lovely to see some of the classes artwork.

Your post has encouraged Lucy to tell me about her learning. She tells me they had to cut out too and she had to use purple for the face because they were no pinks left! I love to hear her news from school and it's these blog posts that spark conversation in our house. Thank you and here's to lots of blogs this academic year. Lucy (s) mum
ReplyDeleteAmy tells me her drawing is the bottom one, lovely to see their work and how well they are doing! Thankyou.
ReplyDeleteFantastic portraits, Year 1! They look really life-like! I really like how you've thought carefully about the different parts of your face so that your nose, ears and mouth are in the correct places!
ReplyDeleteWhat brilliant portraits! Joana came home that day very excited about the portraits, she told me her drawing is the second one, so nice to be able to see all these lovely art works :-)
