VI Awareness Morning

Year 5 and 6 came together to learn more about what it is like to have a visual impairment and how we can help all children around school.

We began the morning by Mr Cownie teaching us about the eye and how important looking after our eyes is.

Can you remember any of the things we can do or eat which will help look after our eyes?

We then moved into house teams and worked our way around 4 different activities.

The 4 activities were Braille, Find the Hazard (looking for hazards around school for VI and fully sighted people), Guided Sight (Helping friends with blindfolds to do different activities) and Sim Specs (Wearing glasses that simulate different visual impairments).
