Others were not so easy. Can you spot the larvae in this picture?
When we returned to base, we used microscopes, books and keys to identify some of the smaller creatures in our troughs.
We took a closer at the newts. Using our identification keys, we discovered that the spotted newts were male and the plain newts were female.
Some of us found lots of water boatmen, pond skaters and nymphs.
What a busy week and with such fantastic weather... looks like you have all enjoyed your time in Stubbington. Enjoy your last night and look forward to hearing all about your time away. See you tomorrow. Samuel and Emily`s mum. :-)

ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a great week away Year 6. I am quite jealous (although Year R did lots of fun learning at school, which kept me busy)! It will be good to see you back at school tomorrow and hear all about it.

Pond dipping! How exciting, I love pond dipping. Did you know you can pond dip at SIr Harold Hillier Gardens in Ampfield? I didn't. I discovered you can when I was lucky enough to join year r on a school trip a couple of weeks ago. Have a look at yr r's blog to see all the fantastic things you can see and do there. Whenever I've been before I've always headed left out of the reception area, towards the tree house. However, after the school trip I would recommend heading right. This would be a great weekend outing with your family. Mrs Spurr (year R parent)
