Welcome to Reception

What a fantastic start the children have made to their first year at school!

We have all been busy getting to know each other and our classroom.  It has been lovely to see the children making new friends and interacting so positively with each other.

Helping new friends.
Playing together on the carpet.

We have also been finding our way around the classroom. We have been learning the names of the different areas and finding out what we can do in each area.  We have also been practicing tidying away when we have finished using things.
Sharing books in the quiet area.

Making cakes in the modelling area.

Making pictures to take home.

Exploring mark making.
Working together with the building bricks.
               Painting in the creative area.
Finding new games on the whiteboard.
Finding out about magnets.
In the modelling area.

Exploring outside

Digging together in the mud kitchen.

Enjoying small world play outside.

Having fun on the bikes and scooters.

Painting outside.

Having fun in the sand.

Playing with the sea creatures in the water tray.

Enjoying being outside.

  1. Wow! Look at all of those brilliant pictures! It is great to see how wonderfully our very newest recruits have started ‘big’ school. From my visits to class this week, it has been clear that our little ones have already made a tonne of new friends and have been finding their way around the classroom, getting stuck into all sorts of activities and listening carefully to Lady Frecknall and Countess Piggin. A wonderful start!

  4. Fab pictures! It is great to see what Dillon and his friends get up to whilst they are at school. He has settled in so well and I couldn't ask for anything more from him, his friends and the teachers. Dillons Mum
