In year one we have been learning all about the story of 'The Little Red Hen' during literacy sessions. In the story the hen works hard to make some bread. We had fun making our own bread today in class!
We had to sieve the flour, salt and yeast.
We had to mix it all together.
We added the warm water then kept mixing!
We then had to knead the dough and make our bread shapes.
Everyone looks to be having fun. Can't wait to hear about the bread rising tomorrow, Lydia was keen to see how much it would grow. I can't imagine any of them will bring anything home, I bet they'll happily eat it all at school. Lots of happy little red hens, well done.
