In art, we have been extremely busy making a series of seascapes using different techniques. Our third type of seascape was 3D! Using card and string, we created a series of templates. Once we were happy with their positions, we then covered our design in paper mache. We then put them in a warm place to dry so that they would have a textured surface.
After our paper mache had dried, we then painted our pictures using an acrylic paint to make them robust and to add a shine. There was a range of different painting techniques on display - from blending different colours, to stippling and using the the end of the brush to scrape paint off the surface.Have a look at just a small selection of our fantastic creations below! Aren't they amazing? It actually feels like some of the boats are actually coming out at you from the surface! (Click the pictures to make them bigger.)
