The birds are nesting

Great news! The Kings Copse Birdbox has a resident who has laid some eggs. We have a cleverly installed webcam that streams the goings on from her nest to the South East Grid for Learning's Bird Box website. Go and have a look and let us know how many eggs you think you can see. Look back regularly and you will see the eggs hatch and the babies grow up until they are ready to leave the nest.

  1. Thomas has had a look at the birdcam and thinks it's 'Fab and Brilliant'. We think there are 8 eggs in the nest and can't wait to see them hatch.

  3. Hi Lydia's Mum,
Unfortunately it uses flash so it won't work on Safari on the apple devices which doesn't support flash. There are other browsers you can use on the ipad that do support flash that can be downloaded at the app store.
I am not an expert on ipads etc. I did find this though a Google search that you might try but can't vouch for it personally as I use an Android tablet at home:

  4. The light seems to be really good in the mornings. At 7:45 I could clearly see 8 eggs. There could be 2 more but it was hard to tell as this was right at the edge of what was visible by the camera.

  5. Can now access flash on Ipad, thanks for the link. Lydia and I managed to count ten eggs, when the mummy bird came flying back in, we think it might be a blue tit. Lydia said to me, what that's at my school, wow!!! She was very impressed!
