Bikeability!

Get on your bike!
Over the course of the week, Year 5 have been very busy on their bikes! We've really enjoyed having two very special teachers this week - Kevin and Steve. They've both been helping us to increase our confidence when riding our bike, particularly when cycling on roads.

We learnt how to cycle at a safe distance from the kerb and how to be constantly aware of the hazards around us. We also learnt how to use hand signals so we could indicate to other drivers and pedestrians that we were turning.

After we had shown that we could ride safely, we then learned how to turn into and from minor roads on to major roads. We needed to make sure that we positioned our bike correctly so that we had the best possible view of the road in front of us.

Lots of us passed our Level 1 and/or our Level 2 certificate. Well done everyone!
