BOOK WEEK

The week before half term was spent celebrating books! Throughout the week we looked at a variety of different books, but we focused on J.M.Barrie's Peter Pan, but with a twist... We spent the week imagining how the story would be different if Hook was the hero instead of Peter Pan!

Our week was full of different events and activities including a book swap and the after-school book fair. We also had a Mad Hatter tea party with a fantastic (and suitably mad!) storyteller. He shared stories from Alice in Wonderland with us and encouraged us to show off our acting skills too.

"I felt really inspired by the storyteller. He taught us that you don't always need to have a book to tell a story!"

"The story teller was hilarious! It made me want to read Alice in Wonderland because we had so much fun hearing some of the story and seeing it acted out (even though I did get wet!!)"

"The mad hatter told us to never give up on reading and I think that's really important because we learn a lot from stories."

In maths, we created our own maps to Neverland and then asked our partners questions where they needed to navigate around our islands.

On Friday we finished our Peter Pan (or rather, Hook!) stories. We used the opportunity to become storytellers and share our stories with a friend.

Look out for our stories in the library soon!
