Marching Romans

In music we have been creating musical patterns and linking this to our topic work on Romans.

We started by learning a marching pattern that Mrs Watling showed us. As a class, we discussed the use of a steady beat and an ostinato.

Working in groups, we then composed our own marching patterns. The children thought about which words and patterns they wanted to perform. Next they picked instruments to help them turn their pieces into a performance.

This week we had a rehearsal. The children worked really well in their groups showing great listening skills and teamwork.

We are hoping to film our finished pieces next week so we can show our fantastic final pieces to Mrs Watling.
