Marwell Zoo

We've been looking at adaptation and evolution during our Science lessons this term. To help us with our studies, we went on a visit to Marwell Zoo to find out about how different animals adapt to their habitats.

We saw lots of different creatures on our visit....

As we explored the zoo, we looked at animals which were particularly endangered. We asked the zoologists questions and used the information signs to help us find out more about why they were endangered and what Marwell do to help the species survive.

We then took part in a workshop. We explored how different animals have evolved over time to suit the habitat in which they live - we even got the opportunity to hold some of them! There were also lots of examples of animals that are under threat because humans have hunted them for clothes, decoration or for medicines.
