We are Zoologists

As part of our 'time machine' topic, we have been looking into evolution in science. During our visit to Marwell, we investigated how different animals had adapted to their habitats over time.

We looked at how the cheetah had adapted and evolved in order to increase its chances of survival.

How do you think the giraffe has adapted over time?

We took part in a fascinating workshop where we explored how and why animals adapt to their habitats.

How do you think this python has adapted to its habitat?

Over the past two weeks, Year six have been researching endangered species and the different ways in which they are being helped. Our visit gave us a great opportunity to explore what Marwell is doing to help different animals.

One of the things we realised was that there are lots of animals that Marwell is not currently doing anything to support. We decided to see if we could change that! We have been writing persuasive letters, speeches and leaflets to see if we can influence Marwell's choice about which animals they support. We will be writing these up and passing them on to Marwell too! Let's see if we can make a difference!
