Preparing for battle!

Forming an Army
 
As part of book week, we have continued with our study of the Boudicca story.  We have looked more indepth at the final battle between the Celts and the Romans.  Today, we explored amd researched the symbols used by both sides as banners and flags.  The Romans included letters and numerals whereas The Iceni used only images.
 
 
 

 
We used the internet and other resources to sketch out design onto large pieces of paper before we added detail.




 We used paint and other art materials to create flags that would be used in battle.  Half of the class became the Iceni while the rest were Roman.  Our flags were mounted onto sticks ready to wave above our heads.
















It was now time to enter the battle....
